I'm effectively taking the day off from blogging and forcing myself to write some other things that I quite simply haven't had time to tackle yet.  So, since I'm not posting anything of note over here, I thought I'd point you in the direction of John William's blog, A Special Way of Being Afraid, where he has begun posting his guest-written series of year-end favorite things.
